MOULD MAKING AND SECONDARY OPERATIONS

The making of moulds and mechanical equipment is a stage of fundamental importance to ensure the high functionality and performance of the end product.

The high-quality solutions developed by 2M are the result of the careful choice of materials and geometries, the professionalism of the operators, and the sophisticated technological equipment of the in-house workshop: three-dimensional measurement benches, CNC machining centres, lathes, die-sinking and wire-cutting EDM machines, drills, milling machines.

2M can rely on a trusted partner in China: after more than ten years of collaborations on site, we selected a qualified supplier to optimise the mould making process (the design, control and testing stages are followed in Italy).

SAMPLING AND QUALITY CONTROL

The 2M production process follows a precise quality control procedure: from the arrival of raw materials to the post-production phase, passing through the sample tests on the moulded components.

The dimensional and functional checks are carried out through the use of various measuring and visualisation instruments – both standard and customised.

We have chosen to dedicate special care to this operational phase: an approach that allows us to maintain the high quality standards that characterise each of our products.

INJECTION MOULDING

The relationships with different sectors and industries have led the company to expand its skills in terms of knowledge of materials and technological expertise: 2M stands out for its extreme flexibility concerning project development, customisation and product performance.

Our in-house moulding department has a wide range of injection moulding machines – 25t to 1400-tons presses complete with robotic manipulators – to produce high-precision components with centesimal accuracy such as large fairings (1g – 10Kg e 1mm – 1500mm).

2m moulds a wide range of plastic materials from commodities to technopolymers and superpolymers.

FINISHING AND TESTING

After moulding we perform assembly, functional tests and further processing to ensure that the components comply with the specific requirements.

The testing phase – carried out according to standard and/or customised parameters and technical characteristics – is of fundamental importance to ensure impeccable quality in terms of product design, functionality and performance.
